Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Delayed to 2025 with New Gameplay Showcase Planned
The anticipation surrounding the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance has intensified following the recent announcement of a delay. Warhorse Studios has shifted the launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to 2025, rescheduling it from its initial 2024 release date. This delay was officially communicated today, revealing that the highly awaited game is now expected to be available on February 11, 2025.
Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, the PR manager of Warhorse Studios, shared insights regarding the decision, stating that while the team strived to meet the end-of-year deadline, they felt that extra time was necessary to enhance the game’s quality. Stolz-Zwilling emphasized that the revised timeline provides a specific launch date to look forward to.
This new release date coincidentally aligns with the anniversary week of the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and the sequel will be available on platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Additionally, there are exciting developments lined up before the game’s debut, such as a gameplay showcase scheduled for Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20.
Pre-orders for Deliverance 2 will commence after the unveiling of a new trailer during the presentation, which will also include a Collector's Edition that Stolz-Zwilling hinted at in the video. Furthermore, a series of press previews and firsthand impressions will launch on August 21, followed by an opportunity to experience a playable demo at Gamescom from August 21 through August 25, alongside further announcements from the studio.
In a subsequent communication on X/Twitter, Stolz-Zwilling elaborated that despite being close to hitting the original 2024 target, the team concluded that a bit more time was needed. This indicates that Warhorse is focused on refining the game to ensure it meets the high standards players expect.
As per the developer's description, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 promises to be an engaging narrative-driven action RPG set in the expansive backdrop of 15th-century Medieval Europe. Players will step into the shoes of Henry of Skalitz as they navigate an enthralling saga filled with themes of revenge, betrayal, and self-discovery.
