Top 5 Sandbox Games

You can spend hundreds of hours in a good sandbox, and it still won't be enough. They are valuable not for their plot and characters but rather for their rich possibilities, freedom, and interactivity. Today, our small top consists of actual sandbox games.

Valheim

The first, but not the only, early access project in our top is Valheim, which became quite sensational a couple of years ago. The game has picked up the trend of Scandinavian mythology: there are familiar enemies, like drugs, and a Nordic atmosphere. The plot is traditionally located somewhere in the background, and the main goal is only to get to Valhalla. Between it and the beginning lies a huge hostile world. Alone or with friends, we have to explore it (not forgetting that it is really very harsh), fight bosses, survive, and build and craft our own equipment. A Viking's living dream!

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, like the first part of the dilogy, is an original combination of role-playing, strategy, real-time tactics, and slasher. We create our character, choose his biography, and go to the vastness of the ruthless medieval freedom: explore, assemble armies, fight for new territories, trade, engage in politics, and recruit allies. If desired, you can compete in PvP mode, both in rating mode and in normal mode.

Teardown

Teardown is one of the most notable "sandboxes" of 2022, which attracted the attention of players with incredible destructibility and physics. As usual, you should not expect much from the plot. Our company is on the verge of bankruptcy, which is why we have to take orders that are not the most pleasant: robbing, stealing cars, hacking safes.

You need to approach these tasks carefully, planning each step. Otherwise, it's easy to run into trouble. The voxel world around you really gives you the freedom to create any madness, turning the world around you into living chaos!

Core Keeper

This is another early access project that you can break away from right now. The main character of Core Keeper gets into an endless dungeon. Alone or with friends, we will explore confusing locations, plant seeds, fight monsters, extract resources to craft equipment, and build a base. In general, nothing unusual, but the thing is extremely addictive.

Sons Of The Forest has become one of the most highly anticipated early-access games of 2023. All around is a wild island full of merciless cannibals. Alone or with friends, we will have to decide for ourselves how to survive in this cannibal hell: what weapons to craft, what to build, and how to defend against mutants.
